Since it can power on/off both tv and ps5 and change tv volume, its super comfortable to watch movies in bed with, instead of using both dualsense, that constantly turns off with notifications, and a tv remote. I get why most ps5 users won’t find this remote useful, but I do.

May 18, 2021 · 3- follow through the standard media remote setup instructions 4- reconnect your PS5 HDMI out into your TV’s HDMI in port (this doesn’t reset the connection settings - it will still be linked to the AV receiver/amp) 5- you should be good to go! The media remote should now work with your AV receiver/amp

Nov 19, 2020 · Totally agree, buttons placements garbage, directional buttons garbage, all buttons practically recessed flush with remote so i cant find or feel any dam button especially in the dark, power/ home button right at the bottom where I get a cramp in my hand when I reach for it, needs to be longer with bottom third you hold having no buttons, not sure who designed it but it definalty wasn't human.

Mar 17, 2022 · Nah, they're not great on PC. I use to use it as a media remote back in 2010ish. When the PS3 goes to sleep, it issues a sleep command to the remote to put it in a low power mode. Once you have it paired to a PC it never receives the low power command, so every ~3 weeks it needs a new set of batteries.

Jan 9, 2021 · Pair your brand new media remote with your PS5 Put your bricked media remote in the Amazon box. Return it to Amazon. Tell them why you are returning it. Amazon will charge it back to Sony, which sold you the shitty remote in the first place. Problem solved and the responsible party pays for the non-working remote.

the ps5 is what wakes first as it makes the noise and glows before my tv even turns on following it. i googled more into it and it seems this exact issue is happening to others with the new sony media remote

i had the PDP PS4 x Universal remote which i was able to control my PS4, Sony TV, and Vizio Soundbar with. it was amazing to have one remote for everything. until a PS5 compatible universal remote is made i’ll pass on the media remote but i understand it’s utility.
