The poll also found that both candidates benefitted from the debate: Tim Walz' favorability went up from 52 percent before the debate to 60 percent afterwards; JD Vance also saw his favorability rise, from 40 percent to 49 percent.

A CNN instant poll found that 59 percent of viewers had a favorable opinion of Walz after the debate and just 22 percent had unfavorable views of him. These positive reviews are up from the poll taken prior to the debate, when 46 percent had favorable views and 32 percent had unfavorable views of the governor.
