Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is currently out in early access, exclusively available to people who've spent $100 on the Deluxe Edition or $110 on the Ultimate Edition. It seems players are more than willing to pay that price, however. The game has debuted on Steam to a peak concurrent player count of 91,005, as SteamDB shows.

Sparking! Zero developers Bandai Namco Games and Spike Chunsoft are seemingly planning some downloadable content for the fan-favorite fighting game not already announced. As reported by ComicBook, the Steam backend has been updated to reference a new DLC called the Martial Arts Pack.

Sparking Zero is already drawing in a large number of players, even though it is currently only available in early access.

And when fans celebrated Spike’s success in recreating the show, Spike responded by creating insane character rosters for each game. Dragon Ball Sparking 3 featured 98 characters in 161 forms, the most playable characters for a fighting game at the time. While these games had their faults, they were very popular with fans, and very successful.

Sparking! Zero is divided into several modes, with “Episode Battle” allowing you to take control of one of Dragon Ball’s principal characters, and run through their stories, with non-canon branching paths if you can withstand their unlock conditions. These are presented with a simple overworld format, and cutscenes that pepper the plot in between.
