A group of investors being advised by Maverick Carter, Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James’ business partner, is seeking to raise $5 billion from private capital sources to form an international basketball league to rival the National Basketball Association,

LeBron James has made it abundantly clear that one of his post-playing plans involves owning an NBA team. As such, it's unsurprising he won't be involved in business manager Maverick Carter's ambitious plan to start a global basketball league rivaling the NBA.

With LeBron James’ career in the NBA (presumably) nearing an end, his manager may soon be trying to compete with the NBA.
