The road to recovery is underway for Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell. Dell, who suffered a season-ending knee injury against the Kansas City Chiefs in late December, is expected to have the first of several surgeries Wednesday to repair torn ligaments in his knee.

Houston Texans wide receiver Stefon Diggs joined his teammates at NRG Stadium on Christmas Day despite being sidelined with a season-ending ACL injury. Tank Dell took a play out of the veteran wideout’s playbook Thursday before Saturday’s AFC wild card game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

He wasn’t alone. Fellow receiver Stefon Diggs, who tore his ACL in Week 8, was seen walking outside the tunnel with Dell during the pregame. The second-year receiver was on a pair of crutches while putting little weight on his leg.

HOUSTON — Before the Texans game against the Los Angeles Chargers, Houston players showed their support for an injured teammate.

Tank Dell was attempting a touchdown catch in the end zone when he collided with teammate Jared Wayne. Per NFL insider Aaron Wilson, the collision caused severe damage to Dell's knee, including torn ACL, MCL and lateral ligaments, a dislocated kneecap and meniscus damage.
