The cold air isn't done with the area just yet as another round of dangerously cold air is forecast to move into the region next week.

Low temperatures in the teens in north Alabama, and in the 20s over more of central and south Alabama, are likely next week.

Temperatures will remain cold, in the low 20s. Single-digit wind chills through most of the day. The next chance of widespread snow will move in Thursday morning and last through the afternoon. Snow will start before sunrise with the passage of another cold front.

It's going to be a snowy early-morning commute around Chicagoland on Tuesday, especially for southern areas. But in terms of overall snowfall, we won't see anything major. The snow will push east and should clear the area around 7 or 8 a.

A “quick hit” of early morning snow moving from west to east Tuesday could lead to slick and slippery road conditions for the rush hour commute, the NBC 5 Storm Team said. As of 5:20 a.m., NBC 5 Live Doppler Radar showed light snow falling across most Chicago-area counties.
