Regardless of which element you're using — the call recording in the Phone app, the transcripts that appear in the Notes app or the Apple Intelligence-exclusive summarize tool — this is one of the best-implemented features in the iOS 18.1 update.

Apple is expected to start rolling out Apple Intelligence features to all its supported devices later this month. As per reports, the company will roll out first major updates to its operating systems,

Apple Intelligence includes upgrades to things users already have like Siri and images as well as new programs to use. The software will be free for all Apple users with compatible devices.

Developers or people enrolled in Apple's public beta program can install prerelease versions of iOS 18.1 right now and sign up to test Apple Intelligence. (The technology will also run on iPadOS 18.1 and MacOS Sequoia 15.1, but I'm using iOS 18.1 as shorthand to mean all three. As always, be smart about what you're getting into .)
