Democratic Sen. Tim Kaine, who was one of the senators on the Armed Services Committee who questioned Trump's pick for Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth closely, tells "Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan" that he believes Hegseth would be a "very dangerous Secretary of Defense.

Tim Kaine said he pushed Defense Secretary-nominee Pete Hegseth about infidelity and sexual misconduct in a hearing last week because he believed it was the only way to get Republicans to consider voting against him.

Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.) reaffirmed his pressure on President-elect Trump’s Department of Defense nominee Pete Hegseth and said he asked tough questions last week because his Republican colleagues needed to hear the answers.

The senator went after the former Fox News anchor for cheating on both his wife and a woman who gave birth two months prior.

When Mr. Kaine pressed on and on about Mr. Hegseth’s marriage vows, implying that since he broke those, he then lacked the integrity to be sworn

"Mr. Hegseth categorically denies every word of every allegation,” a Hegseth aide said in a statement provided to the Washington Examiner.

A woman once married to the brother of Pete Hegseth, the defense secretary nominee, submitted a sworn statement to the Senate in a late-hour complication to his confirmation. His lawyer denied her account.

Pete Hegseth refused to admit that sexual assault or domestic violence should disqualify a candidate for defense secretary while Sen. Tim Kaine hammered him over his infidelity during his confirmation hearing.

"For being Secretary of Defense of the most powerful nation in the world, you're demonstrating an astonishing lack of judgment," said Kaine during Tuesday's hearing.

The ex-wife of Pete Hegseth's brother submitted an affidavit alleging the Defense secretary nominee was abusive towards his then-wife.
