Electric air taxi production is receiving a big boost from Toyota. The motor company has awarded Joby Aviation an additional $500 million dollars to help fund their four-seat aircrafts (a.k.a electric air taxis).

The investment comes at a time when Joby is ramping up production for its five-seat electric air taxis. Toyota is now Joby's lead investor.

As part of the investment, Toyota plans to support Joby with commercial manufacturing and certification support.
