FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) — The State Department had been in talks with Elon Musk’s Tesla company to buy armored electric vehicles, but the plans have been put on hold by the Trump administration after reports emerged about a potential $400 million purchase.

The State Department tells Fox News Digital that the original entry should have been "generic" and no government contract has been awarded to Tesla for armored electric vehicles.

Elon Musk, head of the DOGE and CEO of Tesla simultaneously, has said he will police his own conflicts of interest.
