Plenty of DC Comics’ live action projects have fallen victim to the chaos surrounding Warner Bros. Discovery’s DC Films. However, the most egregious miss is the fact that we somehow still haven’t gotten a live-action John Stewart project.

Aaron Pierre & Stephan James have emerged as top choices to star opposite Kyle Chandler in Lanterns, HBO‘s series based on the Green Lantern DC comic.

The Lanterns series has its Hal Jordan. Kyle Chandler will be essaying the role of DC’s second Green Lantern, but the first that was a space cop. Now, it remains to be seen who the studio will tap to play the military man-turned-intergalactic law enforcement John Stewart, who will be training under Hal when the Lanterns series gets going.

Onetime Krypton resident Aaron Pierre reportedly is on the short list to play Green Lantern John Stewart in HBO’s Lanterns TV series. Beacon 23‘s Stephan James is also in some form of contention for the role,
