Veteran right-hander Jesse Chavez has agreed to a minor league contract with the Texas Rangers that includes an invitation to spring training.

The Texas Rangers announced that they have signed a handful of players to minor league deals today, the most notable of which is veteran reliever Jesse Chavez, and announced that 11 players already in the organization have been invited to the major league camp.

The Texas Rangers are expected to announce traditional broadcast deals to further expand the club's accesibility via cable providers.

Details for the Texas Rangers’ local media rights plan are slowly coming into focus. The club announced earlier this offseason that it would be taking a unique approach to its local rights, opting to neither sign a deal with a traditional regional sports network nor join the league’s broadcast umbrella.

On Monday, the Texas Rangers announced the creation of Rangers Sports Network (RSN). The company will produce and distribute all of the team's television broadcasts for the upcoming season. Distribution is the keyword as local stations will vie for a chance to snag the Rangers' local TV rights.
