The National Basketball Association is in discussions with some of Europe's top football clubs about backing teams in a new basketball league on the continent, in what could potentially be a significant international expansion effort by a U.

The Oldham-based football club - Avro FC - continue to jet set around Europe as they push the pace in the Fenix Trophy competition. The RO' typically play their matches in the eighth tier (step four) of English football - competing in the Northern Premier League Division One West.
