Asheville’s boil water advisory was lifted on Monday, Nov. 18, nearly two months after Hurricane Helene wreaked havoc on the western region of North Carolina. The advisory went into effect over 50 days ago.

Asheville lifted its boil water notice this morning, city spokesperson Clay Chandler shared this morning at a press briefing. The notice was lifted after the city’s water department tested 120 samples over the weekend. Turbidity is under 15 and the city expects it to remain low enough to process and meet demand.

Asheville officials say the water in the city’s reservoir is still too murky. which means it’s unsafe to drink from the faucet in the city.
