The Thomas Fowler American Legion Post 169 hosted the ceremony at Veterans Memorial Plaza near Lake Wichita. Among the crowd were veterans from every branch of the military that stood up to the sound of applause, as they were recognized.

"It's our day to remember the sacrifices that were made of those who are still out there doing the job" Army Veteran Tonya Butler said. "To remember those who are serving and who have served in the military.
