Porsche Taycan electric vehicles are recalled the high-voltage battery may experience a short circuit within the battery pack. This creates a risk of fire.

Some of the EVs may experience a short circuit within certain battery modules, increasing the risk of a “thermal event”. In order to avoid the hustle, Porsche advises owners to “only charge their vehicles to a maximum of 80% battery capacity until the repair has been completed”.

Similar to the e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT from Audi, the Porsche Taycan has also been hit with a safety recall over battery-related concerns

Porsche has issued a recall of its Taycan because of a risk of the electric car's high-voltage battery experiencing a short circuit, something that could lead to a fire. The recall covers Taycans from the 2021-2024 model years, of which there are 27,527 examples affected in the U.S.

Porsche is recalling 27,527 electric sedans in the U.S. over concerns that they may face a short circuit within the battery module, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said on Tuesday.

Porsche is recalling the electric sedan because of increased fire risk caused by a fault in the battery. The recall also includes some 6500 Audi e-tron models.

Sports car manufacturer Porsche, which is a division of automotive giant Volkswagen ($DE:VOW3) is recalling 27,527 electric vehicles in the U.S.
