Severe storms moved through Montgomery County leaving behind a trail of destruction. Trees are scattered throughout roads, trapping families in their homes and prohibiting first responders from accessing their destinations with their vehicles.

ATLANTA - Metro Atlanta is bracing for up to three inches of rainfall this weekend as two waves of strong to severe storms move across the region. On Friday, a strong wedge pattern will dominate, keeping temperatures cooler across north Georgia. Highs will stay in the 40s and 50s.

Strong to severe storms are likely across portions of central Alabama late this evening and into the wee hours of Sunday morning. Damaging winds are the primary threat, but a tornado and/or large hail is also possible.
