Poorna Jagannathan (Deli Boys) has been tapped for a heavily recurring role in 'Lanterns', HBO’s drama series based on the Green Lantern DC comic.

Lanterns is based on DC’s long-running Green Lantern comics and stars Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre as, respectively, Hal Jordan and John Stewart, two of the best-known characters in the comics’ long history. HBO picked up Lanterns to series in June after years of start-and-stop development.

Poorna Jagannathan has been cast in a recurring role in the upcoming HBO series “Lanterns,” Variety has confirmed. The show is based on DC's "Green Lantern" comics. Jagannathan joins previously announced series leads Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre in the series,
