Mysuru's grand Dasara 2024 kicks off with traditional rituals and cultural celebrations, marking Karnataka's 'Nada Habba.’

From the inauguration of the festivities at Sri Chamundeshwari temple atop Chamundi Hills to the classical dance and music programmes in front of the illuminated palaces, Mysuru will witness a slew of cultural events and is set to be a one-stop destination for connoisseurs of fine arts as also tourists who will throng to the city in large numbers during the next 10 days.

The famous 10-day Dasara celebrations commenced in this city palace on Thursday amid religious and traditional fervour, with renowned writer and scholar Hampa Nagarajaiah inaugurating the festivities

Deep Fridge, featuring Abir Chatterjee and Tnusree Chakraborty, continues to gain acclaim at prestigious Indian film festivals, including the Mysuru Dasara Film Festival. Directed by Arjunn, the film explores a couple's journey to seek closure post-separation and is slated for release early next year.

Writer and recipient of Nadoja award Hampa Nagarajaiah will inaugurate the festival on Thursday by offering puja to the idol of Goddess Sri Chamundeshwari, housed in a silver mantapa, on a stage next to Sri Chamundeshwari Devi temple, during the auspicious Vrishchika lagna, between 9.15 am and 9.45 am.
