Mark Scheifele scored a hat trick and an assist while Kyle Connor collected two goals and an assist to spark the NHL-leading Winnipeg Jets to a 5-2 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday.

Mark Scheifele had three goals and an assist as the visiting Winnipeg Jets defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs 5-2 on Monday afternoon.

Interestingly, prior to Monday, the Jets had gone 0-5-1 against the Maple Leafs since Scheifele had uttered those words three years earlier. That included a 6-4 loss against Toronto at Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg on Oct. 28, a defeat that snapped the Jets' season-opening eight-game win streak.
