Major incident declared as 17 rescued from floods in Leicestershire - Cars have been left submerged while residents have had to be evacuated from their flooded homes

Parts of Lincolnshire are battling flooding after the recent heavy rainfall and snow. A major incident was declared for the county by the Lincolnshire Resilience Forum on Monday, January 6 in response to the adverse weather conditions.

Emergency services rescue people from submerged cars and inundated homes as floods and snow force roads, railways and schools to close.

Homes were flooded and vehicles stranded Monday as a soggy and cold spell continued to disrupt life across parts of the U.K. and more wintry weather was expected.

MORE snow and ice is on the way, according to forecasters who have issued another weather warning. The Met Office has put in place a yellow warning across the north west of England and north Wales for snow and icy patches.
