That was followed by a 13-second moment of silence (13 was Johnny Gaudreau’s jersey number).

Act 1 found the Bruins one goal short Sunday, the Black and Gold falling to the Rangers, 3-2, at TD Garden in the first exhibition game of the 2024-25 NHL season for both clubs. Alex Belzile’s goal, 4:46 into the third period, broke a 2-2 tie and carried the Blueshirts to the win.
