The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a cash reward of Rs 5 crore for the Indian side that claimed their second consecutive U-19 ICC Women`s T20 World Cup at the Bayuemas Oval on Sunday.

Niki Prasad-led Indian women's team beat South Africa in the final by nine wickets and stayed unbeaten on their way to the successful defence of the U19 Women's T20 World Cup in Malaysia. Trisha Gongadi with 309 runs to her name was the star of the tournament for India junior women.

New Delhi: The BCCI on Sunday announced a cash award of Rs 5 crore for the Indian team and its support staff after the title triumph in the U-19 Women's T20 World Cup in Kuala Lumpur with the board's top office-bearers hailing the achievement.

The announcement comes after the team won the ICC Women's U19 T20 World Cup, at Bayuemas Oval. The Indian team, led by Niki Prasad, went unbeaten in the tournament and clinched their second consecutive title with a thumping nine-wicket victory over South Africa in the final.
